A melamine sponge is different from a conventional washing-up sponge. Its fine foam structure creates a mild abrasive action that can help lift marks through gentle rubbing.
That is why technique matters: keep it damp, work on a small area and avoid heavy pressure. The pad gradually wears down as you use it, much like an eraser.

Spot clean suitable ceramic fixtures and tiles. Check the manufacturer’s advice before using on coated, glossy or specialist bathroom finishes.
Give small scuffs attention
For compatible hard surfaces and suitable rubber shoe edges. Avoid leather, fabric and decorative finishes; test before treating a visible area.
Avoid skin, screens, car paint, non-stick coatings, polished stone, glossy finishes and finished wood. Painted walls can lose colour or sheen. If in doubt, choose a soft cloth and follow the surface manufacturer’s care advice.

A few careful movements are all it takes to get started. Before step one, test a small hidden area and allow it to dry so you can check for any change in the finish.
Wet
Dampen the pad with clean water. No extra detergent is needed for ordinary spot cleaning.
Squeeze
Gently squeeze out excess water. Keep the pad damp; do not twist it aggressively.
Wipe
Rub the mark lightly in a small area. Start gently and stop if colour or sheen changes.
Finish
Wipe the surface with a clean damp cloth. Rinse the pad gently and leave it to air dry.
Never use on skin or the body. Keep away from children and pets. Remove foam residue and replace the pad when worn or soiled.

What is a magic eraser or melamine sponge?
A magic eraser is a cleaning pad made from melamine foam. Its fine structure creates a mild abrasive action when rubbed on a surface, helping remove some everyday marks. Always test first: abrasion can also affect delicate finishes.
Is a nano sponge the same as a magic cleaner sponge?
“Nano sponge”, “cleaner sponge”, “magic sponge” and “magic cleaner sponge” are names commonly used for melamine cleaning pads. The material and instructions matter more than the name. Arvessa’s planned product is a melamine foam pad; the term nano sponge does not establish a special nanotechnology claim.
Do I need to add a cleaning liquid?
The Arvessa pad is designed to be dampened with water for targeted cleaning and has no added detergent. Do not mix cleaning chemicals on the pad. Follow the surface manufacturer’s instructions and wipe away residue after cleaning.
Can it clean every surface?
No. Avoid delicate, coated, polished and high-gloss surfaces. Do not use on skin, electronic screens, car paint, non-stick cookware or finished wood. Test a hidden area, let it dry and check for changes before continuing. Our surface guide explains how to decide.
Why does the sponge become smaller or wear away?
Melamine foam gradually wears as it cleans. This is expected. Use light pressure, rinse gently and let it dry between uses. Replace a pad when it is worn, crumbling or heavily soiled. Its useful life depends on the surface and task.
Is “magic erasure” a different cleaning product?
People sometimes search for “magic erasure” when they mean a magic eraser cleaning sponge. The product name here is Arvessa Magic Eraser, a water-activated melamine sponge.
